Broadcasting from WS Bulwark, in the Hope System
Day 819 of the Second Swaparaman Space Age
It feels as though it has been a great while since last we spoke.
Maybe it’s because this battle has gone on for weeks.
Indeed. The siege of Hope I has taken a bit longer than anticipated.
With our superior Swaparaman weaponry, we were able to position the Bulwark out of range of Hope I’s missile batteries and lay into their shields.
For days on end.
But just as the shields fell and we had a chance to destroy the missile batteries, the ships began to arrive.
First the Chromomyst. A distraction perhaps, meant to draw us back to the Syzygifer System.
But if the Chronomyst plan on attacking us there, our missile bases will make short work of them.
Assuming they haven’t invented shipboard weapons with the same range as ours.
And after the Chronomyst came the Kambuchka.
Who were hostile for some reason? Did they declare war on us already?
I’m not sure. The message might have gone to our spam folder.
So for a time we battled the Kambuchka ship. It was unable to damage us through the Bulwark’s shields, but wasted valuable time while the Mebes rebuilt their planetary defenses.
A dastardly stunt! Surely our enemies are in league!
Yes, I believe I just implied that.
The Kambuchka ship was, of course, no match for us. But more are on their way to continue distracting us from the invasion of Hope I.
What they do not know, however, is that our new warship is also coming.

Day 851 SSSA
And the new ship is… still coming. Someday.
In the meanwhile, comrades, we have continued the Good Fight, despite receiving some damage.
Another Kambuchka interloper has been destroyed.
A third ship passed through the system on its way to Syzygifer.
They must have realized they cannot defeat us. Not to say they will have any more luck in the next system.
Tananni, another ship is entering Hope. It’s the Frutmaka!
We should have known the galaxy would unite against us once they understood our power.
That’s great, but they’re coming right for us and I don’t know if we can hold off another ship!
Silence, Don. Do not alarm the audience. We shall do just fine. Open fire!
Uh, okay. But now we’re out of power.
And we’re taking fire!
Tanandanam will protect us.
Another one! Tananni! Tananni, are you even paying attention?
Tanandanam will–
Eject! EJECT!

…three months later…
WS Vanguard, in the Hope System
Day 953 SSSA
We… are alive.
Tanandanam be praised!
If you have been wondering what fate befell us after the Battle at Hope I, our Great Ancestor’s spirit saw fit to spare us from the fiery explosion that claimed the WS Bulwark and her crew. As we drifted in the cramped escape pod for months, though the abyss of space, I became even more resolute in our mission. We alone survived — because we alone can lead the Swaparamans to Galactic Dominion.
Tananni, we… we only installed an escape pod on the bridge. Nobody else could feasibly have made it out–
We come to you now from aboard the WS Vanguard, which arrived in the system just moments ago, along with its newly-finished sister ship, the WS Shieldbearer.
Two unstoppable ships of bleeding-edge Swaparaman technology, now commanded by anointed saviors of our species, bear down on the Mebes homeworld for the decisive battle!
Though perhaps we should have taken it as a sign that we’ve already lost two ships fighting for this system.
A sign indeed: of our Righteousness! BLAST THEM!

Day 955 SSSA
It is done. Hope I is ours.
To recap, the last 104 days have been quite a ride. After the Bulwark was vaporized, our Industrious Friends back home continued our efforts undeterred. They completed the Vanguard…
…and immediately began work on the Shieldbearer.
Once complete, these Monuments to the Swaparaman War Effort left the Syzygifer System…
…and just two days ago arrived in Hope.
The Mebes never stood a chance.
So much has been accomplished in so little time. It makes me feel that… that maybe we can… take a break now. You know, stop and rest for a bit.
We shall never stop, Don. Not until the Frutmaka kneel before us!
I had a feeling you’d say that.
